This game actually reminds me a lot of the cooking in Genshin Impact. It's lowkey addicting trying to create the perfect carrot over and over again. I would say a bigger of variety in foods would have done this game wonders and constantly keep me guessing on when the best time to each food would have been.

Hi, I'm glad you brought it up! It's indeed my inspiration for this game. Good catch!

Like the other comments, I also think the hold and release mechanic works perfectly in a timing game. The carrot and pot models are cute as well. I like how they first drop to the pot before cooking. I guess this is a scene which happens a lot in many RPG games whenever there is a cooking system. In terms of critique, I think the timing range can be various such as  a random number of seconds. Also more food can be added to this game to fit those different times. (I'm kind of thinking of Overcooked..haha) Also, it's hard to release at exactly 8 seconds so I guess you could make a larger range for "perfectly cooked" as well. Overall this game is nicely polished and good jobs!

I think the hold and release mechanic is a really creative idea for this assignment and you pulled it off very well! I enjoyed the theme of having to create the perfect carrot for Bunny Ramsay. The low poly models really enhance the tone you are trying to create. I wish the rate at which the carrot were being cooked were represented in the carrots itself, they stay the same color while it's being cooked so it's hard to tell if its visually getting closer to perfect or not. I think the game could also benefit from some light sound effects, such as fire cackling and food cooking, etc. Overall I really loved this game, it's probably my favorite one - good work!!

Hold and release is definitely a great idea for one-button game! I like the concept that player’s being called “Chef Bunny” because they’re cooking a bunch of carrots, even though the bunny character never actually appears in the game. Besides, I really like the low-poly carrot/cauldron model and that fire flickering particle effect. Some details provide amusement – for example, the carrot has a dark grey color when it’s nearly raw. For suggestions, I think you can also add an over-cooked carrot model if player holds button more than eight seconds. Additionally, adding some background music and sound effect is always a good idea to enhance the gaming experience. Great work overall!

There definitely is a learning curve here, wow. It's frustrating in a goodway that leads to more replayability (Unrelated to gameplay, I like your Carrot model.)  Something you could add with more time would be a variation to the slider either to differentiate the green from the background green more, or to show the stages

I really liked this mechanic, a timing game, and kind of similar to the curry cooking in the new Pokemon (last bit). I think eight seconds is a good amount of time to wait, and the fact that its not too forgiving does have me coming back to try again. I liked the golden carrot when you get it right, but I thought the game could benefit from other carrots in different states. For eg, a charred black burnt carrot, or a frozen blue raw carrot maybe? Additionally, it could be cool if there was some visual effect as the cooking goes on. Maybe smoke appears above the fire/carrots, or the carrots start browning, or the pan getting redder/hotter.
